The IV FALAN Congress will bring together leading neuroscientists from Latin America, the Caribbean, and across the globe for four days of scientific exchange, collaboration, and innovation in brain research.

Participants may register, submit abstracts, and apply for Travel Grants within the same system.

TRAVEL GRANTS

A limited number of FALAN–IBRO Travel Grants will be available to support participation in the IV FALAN Congress.

Grants are intended for students and early-career researchers presenting their work at the congress.

Important

You do not need to pay a registration fee to apply for a Travel Grant. However, awardees must pay the registration fee upon announcement of the results.

All Travel Grant applicants, regardless of award status, may register at the early registration rate (if results are communicated after May 15)

Eligibility

The FALAN–IBRO Travel Grant is intended for:

  • Undergraduate students.

  • Postgraduate (Master’s and PhD).

  • Postdoctoral researchers / Young Investigators within 5 years of obtaining their PhD.

  • Applicants must be the presenting (first) author of the poster they will present at the congress.

  • Priority will be given to applicants from FALAN countries to facilitate their attendance at the Congress. Applicants from other underrepresented or under-resourced countries in Latin America, as well as those from extra-regional countries, will also be considered.

Application Requirements

  • Register on the congress platform and complete their profile

  • Create and submit an abstract

  • Complete the FALAN–IBRO Scholarship Application through the platform 

All steps must be completed before the deadline (May 15)

Selection Criteria

Applications will be evaluated based on:

a. Academic merit relative to the applicant’s career stage. Grants will be distributed across different training stages. Career interruptions due to maternity leave, illness, or caregiving responsibilities will be taken into account.

b. Scientific impact and originality of the proposed presentation.

c. Representation of the different areas of neuroscience, ensuring broad disciplinary coverage.

d. Equity considerations, including gender equity and balanced regional representation.

e. To maximize institutional representation, we anticipate that only one applicant per laboratory will be selected.

Cancellation Policy

All cancellations must be sent by email to support@4ID.cl
Refund of the registration fee will be as follows:

– Cancellations received up to and including June 10, 2026: full refund.
– Cancellations received between June 11 and July 15, 2026: 25% will be refunded.
– Cancellations received on or after July 15, 2026: no refund will be issued.
